G&B site

We redesigned Green & Black's Web site in 2002 and have been managing it ever since. They are just really nice people who are doing a great thing. What's more theirs was the first ever Fairtrade product and tastes amazing. However, we could do with more samples to keep us going through those long nights.

Task

Our latest work was to restyle the site to suit the evolution of the packaging and to ensure that the site met the latest usability and accessibility guidelines.

Solution

It is obvious that a company founded on ethical values should make their Web site accessible to all (we actually think that all sites should be accessible). That involves not only the technical implementation but also how the staff write copy and upload and provide descriptions with pictures.

From the outset we have enabled Green & Black's to be in charge of their own destiny by giving them a comprehensive content management system, we've also adapted it so that it encourages accessible content to be uploaded.

Now then can

  • edit their entire product catalogue
  • edit all news items
  • edit all recipes in the recipe section
  • add in events to their events calendar
  • run online competitions
  • manage and send email newsletters
  • edit their faqs
  • receive customer care via the web site

Continual increase in web traffic. Reduced workload from answer customer queries because the answers are online. Top rankings on search engines for organic chocolate.
